About Chongqing People's Auditorium & People's Square
A vast assembly hall built in 1951–54 for the Southwest regional government, with a domed central hall modelled on Beijing's Temple of Heaven, colonnaded wings, blue-green glazed roofs and red columns. The round auditorium under its 46 m steel-framed dome seats about 4,200 people and is still used for the city's major meetings. It faces the Three Gorges Museum across People's Square, a popular gathering place in the evenings.

On Renmin Road in Shangqingsi, Yuzhong District, about 200 m from People's Auditorium (Dalitang) station on Metro Line 10.
