About Shanglin Lake Yue Kilns

Nearly 200 kiln sites around Shanglin Lake and its neighbouring lakes made Yue ware celadon from the Eastern Han to the Southern Song, and the Housi'ao kiln, excavated in 2015–2017, is thought to have produced the 'secret-colour' celadon found at Famen Temple. The national archaeological park built since 2015 displays a dragon kiln at Hehuaxin, untouched shard heaps at Zhuyuanshan and workshop remains at Housi'ao, and the Shanglin Lake Yue Kiln Museum stands by the lake. It suits anyone interested in Chinese ceramics.
