About Xusanwan Ancient Fort and Tombs

A small rammed-earth fort standing alone on the gravel plain west of Gaotai, with corner towers and a square barbican outside its south gate; the area belonged to the Han county of Biaoshi, and the fort was reused as a Ming–Qing outpost before being abandoned. Thousands of tomb mounds of the Han to Five Liang periods are scattered over the plain around it.
