About Qinglong Mountain and Ciyun Temple

A forested range of about 51 km² south-east of Gongyi city, a forest park since 1998, with waterfalls, pools and lakes linked by lakeside trails, red leaves in autumn and frozen falls in winter. In its heart stands Ciyun Temple, by tradition founded in AD 64 and counted among China's earliest Buddhist temples; its halls have been rebuilt in recent years, but more than 100 carved stones survive, including 52 Ming and Qing steles and 43 monks' stupa inscriptions.
