About Zhakou White Pagoda
A nine-storey octagonal stone pagoda about 14 m tall, carved to imitate a timber building down to its brackets and window bars, and dated on its style to the Wuyue kingdom or the early Northern Song. Its storeys carry reliefs of Buddhas and bodhisattvas and sutra texts, now much weathered, and it stands in Baita Park by the Qiantang River, where it once marked the point at which the Grand Canal met the river.
