About Hejiang Han Stone Coffin Museum

A county museum devoted to the relief-carved stone coffins of the Eastern Han dynasty (25–220 CE) found in cliff tombs around Hejiang, where the Chishui River joins the Yangtze. Such coffins are the most common find from the nationally listed Hejiang cliff tombs, whose 13 groups are cut into riverside cliffs scattered across the county, so the museum is the practical place to see their carving.
