About Guanting Reservoir National Wetland Park
A very large wetland park on the shores of Guanting Reservoir, a 1950s reservoir on the Yongding River that straddles the Hebei–Beijing border. The park covers about 13,500 hectares of river, floodplain, reservoir, fish-pond and rice-paddy wetland, with a boardwalk out into the wetland and a wetland museum. It is a quiet outdoor stop for open water views rather than a monument.
How to get to Guanting Reservoir National Wetland Park
In Huailai County, about 13 km south-east of Shacheng town on the reservoir's northern shore, and roughly 84 km south-east of Zhangjiakou city; a private car or taxi is the practical way.
