About Xudu Han–Wei City Site

The site of Xu, where Cao Cao brought the last Han emperor in 196 and where the court stayed until the Wei capital moved to Luoyang in the 220s. Most of the city now lies under farmland, but parts of the inner earthen wall survive and the Yuxiu Terrace, where Emperor Xian is said to have sacrificed to Heaven and Earth, still rises above the fields with temple halls on top. Just to the north, Zhang Gong Shrine is said locally to mark where Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei camped when they were received by Emperor Xian.
