About Simian Mountain

A forested upland on a spur of the Dalou Mountains in southern Jiangjin, where red sandstone cliffs, lakes and more than a hundred waterfalls are spread over a scenic area of about 213 km². The best-known sight is the Wangxiangtai Waterfall, about 150 m high, whose cliff outline is likened to a heart; other areas include Longtan Lake, the Honghai lake and Pearl Lake. It is a cool summer retreat for people from Chongqing and suits one or two days of walking between the falls and lakes.
