About Jilin Confucian Temple

A Qing-dynasty Confucian temple in the old centre of Jilin, first built in 1736 and moved to its present site in the early 1900s, one of the earliest the Qing built in the north-east. Its halls follow the usual axial plan from a screen wall and the Lingxing Gate through to the Dacheng Hall, which is eleven bays wide, and the complex now houses the Jilin Confucian Temple Museum. It is a popular place for photographs, including in traditional dress.
