About Jingzhou Pagoda

A thirteen-storey octagonal pagoda of brick and stone, 63.85 m tall, rising above the town of Jingxian. The present structure was rebuilt in 1079 in Song style; iron plaques record earlier repairs under the Northern Qi and Sui, and the first pagoda may date from the Northern Wei. It has been a national heritage site since 1996 and is counted among Hebei's 'four ancient treasures' with the Cangzhou iron lion, Zhaozhou Bridge and the bronze Bodhisattva of Longxing Temple.
