About Laiwu Battle Memorial Hall
A memorial museum on Huangshan hill in Laiwu, now a district of Jinan, opened in 1997 on the site of an earlier martyrs' cemetery. It covers the Laiwu Campaign of 20–23 February 1947 and the wartime resistance in central Shandong, with an exhibition hall, a panorama painting 17 m high showing the fighting north of the town, a martyrs' memorial tower and an open-air weapons display. It suits visitors interested in the history of the Chinese civil war.
