About Jiao Yulu Memorial Park
A memorial park on the old Yellow River dyke at the northern edge of Lankao town for Jiao Yulu, the county's Communist Party secretary from 1962 until his death in 1964, who led local campaigns against drifting sand, waterlogging and salinised soil. It holds his white-marble tomb, where he was reburied in 1966 at his own request, a memorial hall opened in 1994 with exhibits on his life, a monument to revolutionary martyrs and a grove of paulownia trees. It is a national patriotic-education base and receives many Communist Party delegations.
