About Yuewang Tower
The first Yuewang Tower was built on Gui Hill in 656 by Li Zhen, Prince of Yue and a son of Emperor Taizong, and was praised by poets including Du Fu before being destroyed and rebuilt several times. The present 99-metre tower, completed in 2010, is a modern reconstruction in Tang style and a landmark above the Fu River; the riverside parks of the Three Rivers Peninsula belong to the same scenic area.
