About Tomb of Koxinga (Zheng Chenggong)
The hillside family tomb of Zheng Chenggong (Koxinga), the Ming loyalist commander who defeated the Dutch East India Company on Taiwan at the siege of Fort Zeelandia in 1662 and died suddenly the same year. His remains were brought back to his home district and the tomb was built in 1699, holding him with his son and his father in nine chambers in three rows, fronted by a pair of carved stone columns and a stone lion. Items found in his coffin are shown at the Zheng Chenggong Memorial Hall in nearby Shijing.
