About Yuyin Shanfang (Yuyin Garden)

Yuyin Shanfang is a private garden built in 1867–71 for the Qing scholar-official Wu Bin in Nancun, Panyu, and is counted among the four famous gardens of Guangdong. Within a small walled plot it fits a rectangular lotus pond, an octagonal waterside pavilion, an arched bridge and halls with carved wooden screens and coloured 'Manchu' windows. The adjoining Yu Garden, added by a descendant in 1922, has a boat-shaped hall and a glass-walled upper room looking over the garden.
