About Liyinghou Temple

A small Yuan-dynasty temple beside Zhenguo Temple in Haodong village, dedicated to Hu Tu, a Jin state official of the Spring and Autumn period. Only the main hall survives, three bays wide on a one-metre platform with an overhanging gable roof, and it holds nine painted clay figures of the Yuan period. It pairs naturally with Zhenguo Temple about 150 m to the east.

How to get to Liyinghou Temple

In Haodong village, about 13 km north-east of Pingyao and about 150 m west of Zhenguo Temple. Like many village temples in Shanxi it is often locked, so ask in the village for the caretaker.
