About Zhujiajiao Ancient Town

A canal town beside Dianshan Lake in Qingpu District that grew from Song- and Yuan-dynasty country fairs into a busy rice-trading town in the Ming and Qing. Its old streets and waterways keep Fangsheng Bridge (first built in 1571 and rebuilt in 1812), Kezhi Garden, the City God Temple, Yuanjin Buddhist Temple and a Qing-dynasty post office, and boats still carry visitors along the canals.
