About Former Yaohua Glass Factory
The surviving core of the Yaohua glass factory, founded in 1922 and described as China's first large mechanised glassworks: a two-storey Gothic power house, a pump house and a water tower. The power house is now the main hall of the Qinhuangdao Glass Museum, which opened in 2012 as the country's first state-run museum on glass. Its displays cover ancient glass, the Chinese glass industry and glassmaking today.
