About Nishan Confucian Temple and Academy

A temple on Mount Ni, the hill traditionally held to be the birthplace of Confucius, with an academy beside it, set in the hills east of Qufu. It was first built in the 950s, rebuilt in 1417 in the Ming dynasty and repaired several times, reaching its present form in the Qing; repairs in 1925 were funded by Confucius's 77th-generation descendant Kong Decheng. It is a separate visit from the main Temple of Confucius, Kong Family Mansion and Cemetery in Qufu.
