About Yuntai Taoist Temple
A large Taoist temple complex on Yuntai Mountain in southern Santai County, founded by a Taoist hermit early in the 13th century under the Southern Song. Its Ming and Qing buildings, including the Xuantian Palace (Zhenwu Hall), a sutra library and bell and drum towers, stretch for about a kilometre from the gate to the main hall. It combines well with the Qijiang cliff tombs and old town nearby.
