About Shanghai Zoo
One of Shanghai's two main zoos, laid out on a former golf course near Hongqiao Airport and opened as Xijiao Park in 1954 before taking its present name in 1980. Mature trees, wide lawns and the Swan Lake surround enclosures for Chinese species such as golden snub-nosed monkeys and South China tigers as well as animals from other continents, and it suits a relaxed family day.
