About Yuan-Dynasty Stone Arch Bridges of Taicang

Five stone arch bridges built under the Yuan dynasty between 1329 and 1334, close in date and style and listed together. Three of them — Gao Bridge (1334), Zhou Bridge (1329) and Zhoujing Bridge (1330) — still cross the Zhihe canal through Taicang's old town beside Xinhua Road; the three-arched Zhou and Zhoujing bridges are the largest, Gao Bridge a single arch. The other two, Jingting and Jinji bridges, stand in Xinfeng village on the southern outskirts.
