About Taikang Confucian Temple
The county Confucian temple of Taikang, founded in 1426, wrecked in the wars at the end of the Ming and repaired under the Qing. Two Qing halls remain: a five-bay worship hall with carved and painted brackets and beams, and the seven-bay, double-eaved Dacheng Hall on a terrace with a dragon-carved stone ramp. The Dacheng Hall mixes northern and southern building traditions, with a combined beam frame, a two-part front roof slope rare in Henan and large upswept corners in a southern style.
How to get to Taikang Confucian Temple
