About Jingyin Temple
A Buddhist temple below Mount Jueweishan whose founding date is uncertain; a plaque of 930 is recorded, and it was rebuilt in 1205 under the Jin and repaired several times in the Ming and Qing. Its Great Buddha Pavilion is set into the hillside and holds an earthen Buddha more than 9 m high with two attendant bodhisattvas, inside a niche about 10 m high. Old cypresses grow in the grounds, and the temple faces Dou Dafu Temple across the Fen River valley.
