About Tianshengcheng Fortress Ruins

A natural rock mesa above Wanzhou with sheer cliffs on every side, fortified in the 13th century as one of the Southern Song mountain strongholds against the Mongols; the Song general Shangguan Kui held it through a siege of more than a month, and local tradition says Liu Bei of Shu Han once camped here. The ruins on the summit look out over the city.
