About Jiaying Temple (Jiayingguan)

A temple complex founded in 1723 on the orders of the Yongzheng Emperor as the temple of the dragon kings of the Huai, Yellow and other rivers, close to the north bank of the Yellow River. About 50 Qing buildings survive in two courtyards, among them the imperial stele pavilion, the Great King Hall and the Pavilion of Yu the Great, and it once housed the Yellow River control headquarters of Fu Zuoyi and Soviet advisers.
