About Longzhong
Longzhong is the wooded hillside west of Xiangyang that tradition names as the place where the Three Kingdoms strategist Zhuge Liang lived quietly before Liu Bei called on him three times, the origin of the saying about visiting the thatched cottage three times. The grounds mix Ming and Qing buildings with newer additions, and the sights include the Wuhou Temple, the Sangu Hall, a thatched-hut pavilion and the Liujiao well. Nanyang in Henan makes a rival claim to be where Zhuge Liang farmed, so the link is tradition rather than settled fact.
