About Kedu Red Army Long March Memorial

A memorial museum, opened in 1977, in Dangui, a Hui village in Kedu town, Xundian County, set around two courtyard houses where the headquarters of the Central Red Army stayed on 30 April 1935 during the Long March. That night the Central Military Commission met here to plan the crossing of the Jinsha River; Zhou Enlai, Zhu De and Liu Bocheng lodged in one house and Mao Zedong, Wang Jiaxiang and Zhang Wentian in the other. The national listing also covers Jiaoping Ferry in Luquan County, where the army crossed the Jinsha into Sichuan on 3–9 May 1935 and where a museum now marks the crossing.
