About New Fourth Army Memorial Hall

A museum opened in 1986 on Jianjun East Road about the New Fourth Army, the Communist-led army that fought the Japanese in central China and had its headquarters re-established in Yancheng in 1941 after the Wannan Incident. Its galleries draw on a collection of more than 10,000 wartime relics, documents and artworks, and the memorial also looks after the former headquarters at Taishan Temple across town. It is listed among China's national memorial sites of the War of Resistance against Japan.
