About Haibao Pagoda

Yinchuan's 'North Pagoda', a square brick tower on a high platform, about 54 m tall in total, whose stepped projections give it a twelve-cornered plan; it stands in Haibao Temple, the seat of the Ningxia Buddhist Association. Excavation suggests the pagoda was first built between the Northern Dynasties and the Tang, but repeated earthquakes mean the present tower largely dates from Qing rebuilding in the 18th century.
