About Nan'an Temple Pagoda

A Liao-dynasty brick pagoda with thirteen close-set eaves on an octagonal plan, solid inside, standing just inside the south gate of Yuxian's walled old town. It is all that survives of an older Nan'an Temple, which was pulled down in the early Ming, around the time the town wall was rebuilt in brick. The small temple beside it dates from 1706 and has a Guanyin hall and three Qing stone tablets recording repairs.
