About Fuyang

Fuyang is a populous city and rail junction on the flat plain of the Huai River, with few famous sights. The Song writers Ouyang Xiu and Su Shi both praised its Yingzhou West Lake, later silted up by Yellow River floods and recreated from the 1980s as a wetland park, and Ouyang Xiu died here in 1072. Folk arts run deep, from Jieshou painted pottery to the flower-drum lantern dances of Yingshang, home of the Bali River Scenic Area.
