Jieyang 揭阳Jiēyáng
Jade workshops, pingpong kueh and the airport for all of Chaoshan

About Jieyang
Jieyang takes its name from a county founded in 111 BC that once stretched across today's Chaoshan region, Meizhou and part of southern Fujian. Its old centre, Rongcheng, lies between two arms of the Rong River, with the Jieyang Confucian Temple and City God Temple, both founded in 1140, and at Yangmei Jade Village workshops carve and sell jade. The Huangmanzhai Waterfalls drop through the western hills, and the region's airport, Jieyang Chaoshan, also serves Shantou and Chaozhou.
