About Tongliao
Tongliao is Horqin Mongol country, spread across the West Liao River plain and the Horqin sandy land, where Daqinggou nature reserve keeps spring-fed valleys of broadleaf forest among the dunes. Hamin Archaeological Site Park protects the house floors of a Neolithic village dated to about 5,500 to 5,000 years ago, and the Three Great Temples of Kulun recall a banner that the Qing ruled jointly with its lamas. Naiman Mongolian Prince's Mansion, begun in 1863, shows how a banner prince lived.
