About Wuhai

Wuhai, a compact city on the Yellow River in the west of Inner Mongolia, was formed in 1976 by joining Wuda and Haibowan on either bank of the river. Wuhai Lake, a reservoir with 118 sq km of water, lies beside the Ulan Buh Desert, and the Contemporary China Calligraphy Art Museum stands in a city named a calligraphy city in 2008. At Zhaoshaogou on Zhuozi Mountain, more than a hundred Neolithic faces, among them a sun-god, are engraved on a limestone slope.
