Farm and coal country on the Liao plain, with a steam locomotive museum

About Tieling
Tieling covers farmland and coalfields on the northern Liao River plain, between Shenyang and the Jilin border, and has few big sights. At Diaobingshan, the Tiemei Steam Locomotive Museum keeps 21 steam locomotives, and in Kaiyuan's old town stands the 13-tier brick Chongshou Temple Pagoda, begun in the late Liao and finished in the early Jin. In the city, Yingang Academy, founded in 1658, is where the young Zhou Enlai studied for about half a year in 1910.
