Shangluo 商洛Shāngluò
Forested gorges, show caves and twin opera stages in the eastern Qinling

About Shangluo
Shangluo, named after Mount Shang and the Luo River, spreads over the southern slopes of the eastern Qinling Mountains, just across the range from Xi'an. Its main sights are natural: the forested gorges of Jinsi Gorge (Jinsixia), the Zhashui Karst Caves and the forests of Niubeiliang. Manchuan Ancient Town keeps Qing guild halls from its days as a meeting point of river boats and mule caravans, and Dihua Ancient Town stands in the village where the novelist Jia Pingwa was born.
