By train
No direct train runs. The quickest rail route changes at Kunming: G2841 from Chongqing West to Kunming (5 h 10 min), then C638 on to Shangri-La (5 h 29 min), 11 h 59 min in all with the wait, about ¥622 in standard class.
Chongqing: Chongqing North is the busiest station; many trains to Guizhou, Yunnan and Yibin use Chongqing West, and Chongqing East opened in 2025. Shangri-La: Mostly C-series trains from Lijiang (about 1.5 hours) plus a daily D train from Chengdu; Trip.com lists the airport under Diqing.
By air
A nonstop route is listed between Chongqing Jiangbei (CKG) and Diqing Shangri-La (DIG), but it may not fly every day: check your date.
