About Ma Family Manor
The well-preserved mansion compound of Ma Piyao, a late-Qing governor of Guangxi and Guangdong, built from the Guangxu reign into the early Republic in Xijiang village, its courtyards covering more than 20,000 m². In May and June 1947 Liu Bocheng and Deng Xiaoping made it the headquarters of the Shanxi–Hebei–Shandong–Henan Field Army and held the meetings here that launched the Southwest Shandong campaign; rooms in the west court display maps, lamps and other objects from that time.

In Xijiang village near Shuiye town, about 20 km west of Anyang, roughly 40 minutes by car.
