About Chishui Danxia
Chishui is one of the six components of the "China Danxia" World Heritage site (inscribed 2010), a landscape of red sandstone cliffs, forested gorges and waterfalls around Chishui city. The main stop is the Great Waterfall (Shizhangdong), about 76 m high and 80 m wide and described as the largest waterfall on danxia terrain in China; the area is also known for dense bamboo forest and for tree ferns, a plant group that survives from the Jurassic. Plan about a day for the main sights, with the bamboo forest and the Sidonggou falls nearby.
