About Donghuali Historic Lane

A historic residential lane in central Foshan, first called Yangwu Street after the Yang and Wu families who lived here in the early Qing and renamed Donghuali in the Qianlong period. Later owners, the Luo family in the early 19th century and the Zhao family in the late Qing, rebuilt and extended the houses, which now line a main lane about 112 m long across some 6,700 m². It is described as the most completely preserved group of Pearl River Delta-style houses in Guangdong.
