About Huangliangmeng Lüxian Temple
A Daoist temple complex north of Handan built around the Tang-dynasty tale of the Yellow Millet Dream, in which the scholar Lu Sheng naps on a pillow at an inn while millet steams and lives a whole career in his dream, only to wake before the meal is cooked. The main axis runs through a lotus pond, an octagonal pavilion and bell and drum towers to halls for the immortals Zhongli and Lü Dongbin and to a hall with a reclining figure of Lu Sheng, and more than thirty stone tablets record repairs, visitors' inscriptions and poems. Most surviving buildings date from the Ming and Qing periods.
