About Xiling Seal Engravers' Society

The hillside home on Gushan of a society of seal carvers founded in 1904 by a group of engravers, with the master carver Wu Changshuo as its first president, and nicknamed "the foremost society under heaven". Its grounds keep an Eastern Han stele and a collection of inscriptions by noted artists carved on stones and rock faces, and the society's seal-engraving craft is on China's national list of intangible heritage.
