About Sun Island Scenic Area
A river island and wetland on the north bank of the Songhua opposite central Harbin, where Russian residents built summer villas in the early twentieth century. Its main area, Sun Island Park, has lakes, flower gardens and a Japanese-style garden, with art museums and, in winter, an international snow-sculpture expo; the planned scenic area covers about 38 sq km. The Harbin Ice and Snow World, a separate winter venue, lies just to the west and has its own entry.
How to get to Sun Island Scenic Area
In Songbei district across the Songhua River, about 4.5 km north-west of Harbin Railway Station, reached by city bus or taxi.
