About Zhang Garden
Zhang Garden is a European-style mansion built in 1915–16 for Zhang Biao, a former Qing army commander, in what was then the Japanese concession. Sun Yat-sen stayed here for 27 days in December 1924 and the last emperor Puyi lived here from 1925; after 1949 the house served as the seat of the Tianjin Military Control Commission and the city's Party committee, which gives the site its official national-list name. Part of it has been open as a memorial museum since 2018, and the museum reopened in January 2026 after a refit.
