About Zhaojun Tomb
A 33 m rammed-earth mound on the south bank of the Dahei River is the traditional tomb of Wang Zhaojun, the Han-dynasty woman who married a Xiongnu ruler; her actual burial place is not recorded. A processional path of about 400 m lined with stone figures leads from the Zhaojun Museum to the mound, which has pavilions on its upper terrace and summit. The museum's halls cover Han-Xiongnu marriage alliances and include one called the Chanyu's Great Tent, and the mound has been restored several times since the 1960s.
