About Hua'an Tulou (Dadi Cluster)

The Hua'an tulou tourist area centres on the Dadi cluster in Xiandu town: three large earthen houses, Eryi Lou, Nanyang Lou and Dongyang Lou, built by the Jiang family in the Qing dynasty and inscribed in 2008 as part of the Fujian Tulou World Heritage Site. Eryi Lou, built in 1770, has a four-storey outer ring around a single-storey inner ring, and each family's vertical section has its own staircase instead of shared open galleries. The cluster lies some 80 km north-east of the better-known Nanjing and Yongding tulou.
