About Huize Guild Halls

Huize's old town keeps a group of Qing-dynasty guild halls, the 'eight great halls' built by merchant and migrant communities, mostly from other provinces, among them those of Jiangxi, Huguang, Guizhou, Fujian, Shaanxi and Sichuan. The Jiangxi Guild Hall, also called Wanshou Palace, and the Huguang Guild Hall, or Shoufo Temple, stand among the old streets, and walking between the halls is a good way to explore the town.
