About Feiying Pagoda and the Gucheng Scenic Area

Huzhou's 'pagoda within a pagoda': a stone relic pagoda of 884–894 enclosed from the Northern Song in an outer brick-and-timber pagoda, rebuilt after a lightning fire in the Southern Song and restored in the 1980s. It stands in Feiying Park in the old city, one of five sights of the Gucheng scenic area with Lotus Villa, the garden of the Yuan painter Zhao Mengfu rebuilt in 1986, the China Huzhou Writing Brush Museum and the former home of the revolutionary Chen Qimei.
